Reading is Fundamental-RIF

Do you remember all the commercials that used to come on television and was told in our schools about RIF aka Reading is Fundamental? In honor of that special memory that just came flooding back to me, I would like to share with you a small part of my library of books. I hope that you enjoy them. Do you have a favorite book? A favorite genre? I can be a childhood book or an adult. Let me know. I will love to hear about it.. Can you tell that I love books?

I have a very special prize for a randomly picked person who leaves comments on my blog about this specific entry. I hope to see many entries.

  2. Hi Nancy! Reading! My second favorite hobby next to miniatures! I have been an avid reader since I learned to read at age 3! My husband is also a veracious reader and out house is overflowing with books! My dream is to have a house with a real dedicated library someday! My favorite genre? English mysteries of course!

  4. Hi Pearl. I too love books and I always have a book on the go. My favorite is historical fiction, but I will read anything that has a good story to it. I even love miniature books and make sure that there is a book in every room in my dollhouse. I just finished making some new books for my shadow box.

  5. Pearl, your collection of books is wonderful! I loved the Harry Potter series, and Anne Rice is wonderful too! I will read almost anything I can get my hands on. I prefer fiction over non...and paranormal romance is my current genre of choice. But without a new book in that category, I will read any book. I just love to be able to escape into the world of a well written book! I am looking forward to creating books in miniature soon.

  12. Good Evening Pearl,
I've been watching your blog for a couple three weeks now. I see you have one of my favorite Authors right up in front. Ann Rule. She lives here in Seattle where I live and I love her books along with John Gresham. She writes true crime and he rights about lawyers and court cases. Wonder what that says about me? Anyhow, I have a lot of miniature books and a ton more to make, there's just something about mini books that I love. Thank you for sharing yours with us and I look forward to seeing your bookstore.

  13. Pearl....I'm sure you'll have great success selling your books. They need a second look before one realizes that they're minis.
I love reading and have books laying around in every room of the house. They're definitely a must if I go anywhere, even if only for a short time. Like you, Doreen has inspired me to do a "little" bookbinding.

  15. Hi Karin,

Aren't books great, they let our imagination travel. I am a person that when I read, I have to see it like a movie in my head or I can't get into it. I love to feel like I am there seeing everything that is going on. "Feel the experience, especially if it has a great story line." You have been entered in my special drawing. Thanks for coming by and hope that you stay around.
